Your JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
HOUSE LABOR, VETERANS & MILITARY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR HOUSE BILL 236
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 8, between lines 24 and 25, insert:
"(j) peace officer;".
2. Reletter the succeeding subparagraphs accordingly.
3. On page 12, between lines 17 and 18, insert:
"(10) "peace officer" means a person who is appointed by the attorney general or district attorney and who is a certified law enforcement officer who investigates and enforces state laws, rules and regulations, including the execution of warrants;".
4. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.
5. On page 9, line 1, strike "or".
6. On page 9, line 2, after the semicolon, insert "or".
7. On page 9, between lines 2 and 3, insert:
"(m) protective services investigator;".
8. On page 12, between lines 17 and 18, insert:
"(10) "protective services investigator" means a person who is an employee of the protective services division of the children, youth and families department who investigates child abuse referrals, assesses the risk and safety of the child and takes appropriate action or prepares cases for transfer to child protective services permanency planning;".
9. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.
